Brittany Arwood

Brittany Nichole Arwood, RN, MSN, CCRN is a Clinical Research Nurse II in Multiple Myeloma at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. She has eight years of experience providing patient care to critically ill patients as a registered nurse in varied intensive care units. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing at Columbus State University and a Master's of Science in Nursing and Nurse Education from University of Alabama at Birmingham. 

Kathryn Maples

Kathryn Maples received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Georgia College of Pharmacy in 2015. She completed her PGY1 Pharmacy Practice and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residencies at Virginia Commonwealth University Health in Richmond, VA. Dr. Maples began her career as a clinical pharmacy specialist with the lymphoma/myeloma group at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in August 2017, and joined Emory Winship Cancer Institute as a myeloma clinical specialist in June 2019.  She is board certified in oncology pharmacy and her professional interests include clinical research in multiple myeloma, cellular therapy, and survivorship support.  

Ajay Nooka (Moderator)

Ajay Kumar Nooka, MD, MPH, FACP, is an Associate Professor of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine and a part of the hematology care team at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Dr. Nooka is board certified in Internal Medicine and specializes in hematology and medical oncology. As a network physician, he started practicing with Emory Healthcare in 2011. He also serves as director of the Winship Research Informatics Shared Resource.

Timothy Schmidt

Timothy Schmidt, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Palliative Care at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center. Prior to his current position, Dr. Schmidt graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois - Chicago, and finished his fellowship training in Hematology/Oncology at Emory University. During fellowship, Dr. Schmidt served as Chief Fellow and conducted clinical research evaluating cytogenetic risk stratification and clinical trial design in multiple myeloma, as well as laboratory-based research aimed at improving both targeted therapy in myeloma and immune dysregulation in plasma cell disorders. At the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Schmidt joins the section of hematological malignancies and bone marrow transplantation, with a focus on multiple myeloma. In his new role, he plans to bolster a robust myeloma research program through translational science, outcomes research, as well as both investigator-initiated and cooperative group trials.
